Stack Auth Updates #4: Vanilla JS library & more

Finally, we officially support frameworks other than Next.js with our pure JavaScript library.

Welcome to Stack Auth’s weekly newsletter!

As a reminder, Stack Auth is an open-source project and we don’t put our own logo or branding into your components, so we rely on our users to spread the word. If you enjoy using Stack Auth, we’d highly appreciate if you would let your friends know :]

New library: @stackframe/js

Yep, that’s right! No more REST API for non-Next.js frontends. Our new vanilla JavaScript library has officially been released. It contains all the same headless functions that you can use to build your own components in any framework. With it, you can also manage Stack Auth projects from any JavaScript backend.

For more information on how to get started, check out our Getting Started guide.

Dashboard: Updated auth method settings

The Auth Methods page on the dashboard has received a complete overhaul! Adding new SSO providers is now easier, and you see a preview of the sign in component on the right side.

Bug fixes & improvements

As always, we pushed several bug fixes and minor improvements this week, including:

  • Improved performance of /users/me by 3x on average

  • Fixed a bug that made the /password/sign-up endpoint occasionally take >10s

  • Improved trusted domain UX

Thanks for reading, and as always, see you next week!
